I served on the Bibb from 1962 to 1966. I saw plenty of the north atlantic and on ocassion a nice Echo patrol.

My Dad, Don Weisshaar, served on the Bibb from mid-1943 until early 1946. In his later years we got him to talk about Okinawa and his experience in the typhoon in 1945. He died last week, August 26, 2009, very proud of his service, but mostly silent unless prodded.

Old was not the word- cannot believe that she was still alive in ‘77! That nun hated me! Do you have a contact for Margaret Teaken? We were good friends at OLMC and lost touch. If you could pass my email address to her or whatever, I’d appreciate it.
By the way, I’m jealous that you live in Jacksonville- NOT looking forward to another winter in god-forsaken Michigan!

I served as a yeoman in 1st dist. headquarters in Boston beginning in 1946. I was assigned to the Bibb out of boot camp, but upon arriving in Boston, they transferred my orders to district personnel. I was in that assignment until discharge. I tranferred numberous personnel to both the Bibb as well as the Ingraham, but working the N. Atlantic patrol. I would love to hear information about either of these vessels

Was just culling the web trying to find out when the school closed when I discovered some instant friends and some familiar names here. Went to school with Nancy’s brother and was in Sister Margaret Roderick’s class with Joan, graduating in 1960. The ancient nun was as old as the Dead Sea scrolls and probably wrote about half of them. Stopped by the school in 1977 on a whim just to see if she was still alive, and there she appeared, walking down the hall, happy to see me although she thought I was one of my younger brothers. I now reside in Jacksonville, FL. Classmate Margaret Teaken recently provided me with a copy of our 8th grade yearbook.
